Mopar RB Rod vs. Stroke Chart

To use this Chart
1. From Table I: confirm original displacement. Block deck height should be 10.725".
2. From Table II: select crank-shaft type in Column 1.
3. Confirm stroke length in Column 2.
4. Select your connecting rod length in Columns 3, 5 or 7.
5. Nominal piston compression distance for ".000" (zero) deck height appears in the intersecting box. For closed-chamber heads (Max Wedge, 915, Stage V & VI, Indy, etc.) see Note 6 (below). For open-chamber heads (906, 346, 452, etc.) add .100" for ".000" deck, see Note 7 (below).
6. Closed-chamber heads: actual piston compression distance must be adjusted (+ or -) to allow for gasket thickness, desired quench distance, compression ratio, chamber volume, etc.
7. Open-chamber heads: the dome recess in most heads is approximately .100" deep. The actual piston compression distance must be adjusted (+ or -) to allow for gasket thickness, desired quench distance, compression ratio, piston dome clearance, chamber volume, etc.

Notes
1. This is (generally) the largest increase that can be achieved by offset grinding the B/RB 2.375" rod journal to the BBC 2.20" diameter; sizes between 3.575" and 3.925" are (theoretically) possible. Rods for this purpose generally use the BBC .990" piston pin size.
2. Longest stroke that clears internal oil pickup tube position; available from MP
3. Requires external feed line(s) for oil pump (Milodon, etc.); crank available from BRC, Callies, etc.
4.  Std. RB rod length, center to center
5. Eagle special rod length, center to center
6. Eagle or Probe special rod length, center to center, 2.20" BBC journal only
